RSR-Employee Health & Well-Being has partnered with TimelyCare to provide George Mason employees with free, confidential mental health and well-being support, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Faculty and staff can access care from anywhere, at any time, using their George Mason email to register.

Your TimelyCare benefits include:

There is no out-of-pocket cost to students or employees to use TimelyCare. TimelyCare benefits are free, and available to you anytime, anywhere. If you choose to have more than the allotted 12 free counseling sessions, additional sessions can be scheduled at your discretion for a reasonable, accessible flat rate. No insurance is needed. Simply register and begin accessing mental health and well-being support.

TalkNow is available 24/7/365 and offers a quick and convenient way to get in touch with a trained mental health professional quickly, typically in under five minutes. Use this service when you need help right away. Please note, TalkNow is not a replacement for emergency medical or mental health services. If you are in immediate crisis, please contact 988 for help.

A scheduled counseling session is typically an hour-long one-on-one discussion with a licensed mental health professional. You choose the day, time, and mental health provider you work with. Together, you and your counselor can work on your mental and emotional well-being. Employees are entitled to 12 free counseling sessions per academic year. Additional sessions may be purchased out of pocket at an affordable rate.

Yes. TimelyCare is accessible to those who do not speak English or who prefer to speak in a different language, including American Sign Language (ASL). TimelyCare employs a diverse population of mental health professionals. In the event your preferred language is unavailable, a translator can be made available directly through TimelyCare.

Yes, your sessions with TimelyCare are completely confidential. TimelyCare is an independent healthcare provider, and your privacy is protected under HIPAA (the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), just like any other medical provider.

The university only receives anonymous, aggregate usage data (for example, the total number of users or average number of sessions) to help evaluate program effectiveness, never personal details or individual records.

The only exception, as required by law and professional ethics, is if a provider believes someone may be in imminent danger of harming themselves or others. In those rare, high-risk situations, TimelyCare may contact emergency services to ensure safety and provide appropriate support.
